One of these events has been the Forbes-FIN philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, a noted businessman and philanthropist from Zambia, was invited to the latest roundtable conference as an honorary speaker. It is an annual roundtable conference which takes place in New York annually. The objective of this roundtable conference is two folds. The first objective is to discuss about the ongoing critical issues in the field of philanthropy and leadership. The next objective of the Forbes-FIN roundtable conference was creating a platform for gathering financial support, capital, and funding for ongoing and upcoming projects across Africa. This year’s Forbes-FIN philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference was held virtually to comply with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was invited to this event as an honorary speaker and discussed the significance of leadership in healthcare. The event was broadcasted to the world through YouTube medium.
During this Forbes-FIN event, the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ award ceremony was held. It is one of the most premier and notable philanthropy and leadership awards in Africa. The awards are presented to leading lights in the field of business and philanthropy. One of the major reasons for the high recognition and value of the awards is the selection process. This selection process comprises months of verification and background checks by both FIN (Foreign Investment Limited) and Forbes. This is followed by interviews and discussions with the awardees to understand their long-term view on philanthropy and empowerment. After several discussions with the team, the final awardees were presented with their respective awards during the ceremony. Despite being held virtually, the event was an astounding success, and the winners are exposed to significant global recognition.
Forbes recognised the significant contributions made by Dr. Rajan Mahtani over the years and conferred him with the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award 2021.
