Dr. Mahtani Conferred With Top Forbes Business Award

Africa recently saw completion of its annual 2021 Forbes-FIN philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference. Dr. Rajan Mahtani, a noted Zambian businessman and philanthropist, was invited in this conference as a honorary speaker. Despite being held online, this event was a huge success as a result of the participation from members from different fields and functions. The event saw participation from members of the international business communities, media partners, entrepreneurs, spiritual leaders, opinion leaders, policy makers, international investors as well as visionaries. One of the highly anticipated aspects of the Forbes-FIN roundtable conference was the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ award ceremony, which is generally held in liaison with the Forbes-FIN roundtable conference. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani was not only invited into the roundtable conference as a honorary speaker, but was also awarded with the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards category. The award ceremony is among the most highly anticipated and regarded corporate and business awards in Africa. The recipients are selected after months of rigorous background checks, evaluations, interviews and discussions.

Forbes conferred Dr. Rajan Mahtani with the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award. This award was provided for Dr. Mahtani significant economic, business and philanthropic contributions across Zambia as well as redefining the banking sector of Zambia. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is noted for his several top companies, some of which are Mahtani Group and Finsbury Investments. Mahtani Group was established in the year 1981 and since then have become one of the most important and celebrated companies across Zambia. The company transformed itself into a mega conglomerate by expanding to several sectors including agriculture, mining, insurance, energy, real estate and several others. Across all these sectors, Dr. Mahtani has made significant contributions for the development of the sector. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is also known for his numerous philanthropic and charitable contributions. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is the founder and current chairman of the Prison Fellowship Zambia. He is also the founder of Stephen Malama award and scholarship for top law graduates in Zambia.
