Dr. Mahtani Remains The Truthful Owner Of The Portland Cement Zambia Factory

Finsbury Investments is an investment organization which is owned by Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, a prominent businessman. Dr. Mahtani is Finsbury Investments’ Executive Chairman. After the successful incorporation of the company in 2004. The shareholding of the Zambezi Portland Cement went few re-organization. There were a few changes introduced into the shareholding pattern of Zambezi Portland Cement. These changes were made between Dec 2006 & February 2007 and was made jointly and in full agreement with the shareholders of the company. These changes included Finsbury Investments getting assigned with 58 percent shares of the factory and becoming the majority shareholders of the factory. These changes made were critical for obtaining loans from PTA Bank as well as other financial agencies for completing the plant’s construction. The loans were subsequently accepted considering the new shareholding pattern was accepted by the Bank.

Fast-forward, the Ventriglias immediately disputed the legal aspects of the shareholding register associated with the factory. The objective was attempting to take over the factory in a mafia-life style, indicating a penchant for serious corporate crime. As a result of these unethical manipulations, Dr. Rajan Mahtani had to move from one court to other for a time period of more than a decade. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is known for his extremely transparent and ethical business practices and despite the several challenges and limitations, he was able to receive justice from the higher Court of Appeal on 31^st January 2019.

As of 2020, the Ventriglias have again tried to disrupt the peace which Zambezi Portland Cement achieved after such a long period. In their attempt, the Ventriglias tried to make an appeal to the Supreme Court of Zambia by claiming that the decision by the higher Court of Appeal was incorrect. However, the bench at the Supreme Court Zambia effectively rejected this plea from the Ventriglias on legal grounds and as such, Dr. Mahtani remains the truthful owner of the Portland Cement Zambia factory.
