Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani Bestowed With Prestigious ‘Best Of Africa’ Award

 

‘If you are successful with the right team, your achievements can be very great’. These words by Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani certainly hold ground as good teams are responsible for the success of any project, business or organizational goal. At the same time, the achievements by any team is largely dependent on the leadership quality and the leader’s involvement. This leadership quality is oozed by Dr. Rajan Mahtani, one of the most successful businessman and philanthropist in Zambia. Dr. Rajan Mahtani has almost four decades of business experience and this business contribution is seen across several sectors in Zambia.

The Forbes recognised this contributions and recently bestowed Dr. Mahtani with a prestigious award from the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ category awards. The awards were presented during the recently held FIN (Foreign Investment Network) Leadership & philanthropy roundtable discussion and conference, held in partnership with Forbes Africa. The Forbes-FIN roundtable conference is usually held in NYU during the United Nations conference annually. However, this year’s roundtable conference was forced to held online as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Nevertheless, the enthusiasm and passion from the members was not hampered and the event saw participation from members of the international business communities, opinion leaders, politicians, investors, spiritual leaders, news media and several other personalities from varied fields. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani was one of the honorary speakers during the conference.

One of the major highlights of the roundtable conference was the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards. These awards are presented to leaders and businessmen from Africa for recognising their contributions towards economic prosperity and empowerment of Africa and its people. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani was bestowed with the prestigious ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award 2021. Dr. Rajan Mahtani’s contributions through his flagship company Mahtani Group is immense and expands to numerous sectors such as infrastructure, mining, banking & finance, real estate, energy and agriculture. At the same time, he is recognised for several philanthropic contributions such as establishing Prison Fellowship Zambia and Stephen Malama award.
