The annual Foreign Investment Network roundtable conference was recently completed. It is one of the most anticipated and recognised business events in Africa. The roundtable conference is known not only for the several notable global and African business and leadership personalities attending the event to discuss about philanthropic and leadership solutions; it was also a platform for generating funds and financial support for the ongoing projects across Africa. The business event invited personalities from several fields and sectors and Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani was among one of them. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is one of the most respected and successful businessman, leader and philanthropist in Zambia, His contributions can be seen across numerous sectors, fields and areas. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was invited to be a part of this FIN business conference as a honorary speaker. The event was held online as a result of the ongoing pandemic. Dr. Rajan Mahtani, just like other leaders, took part in this conference from their respective locations. Dr. Rajan Mahtani discussed about the significance of leadership in healthcare and the significance of political leadership for redefining the healthcare sector of a nation.

Apart from the business conference, the roundtable was also noted for the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards. The award ceremony celebrates and recognises businesses and leaders across Africa having significant contributions and support towards the development of African economy and empowerment of African society. The potential candidates selected for the awards are from all over Africa having recognizable and significant contributions across years. From Africa, only one businessman was selected for the award and it was Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani. Forbes recognised the contributions of Dr. Rajan Mahtani in growth and development of the Zambian economy and his significant hand in redefining the banking sector of Zambia, prompting Forbes along with FIN to present Dr. Rajan Mahtani with the prestigious Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award 2021. Dr. Rajan Mahtani received this award for his business as well as philanthropic and charitable contributions for almost four decades.
